Exhibition of illustrations runs through Dec. 22

David Brinley, assistant professor of art at UD, with examples of illustrations he has done for national magazines.

1:50 p.m., Nov. 8, 2006--An exhibition featuring illustrations by David Brinley, a nationally recognized illustrator and an assistant professor of art at UD, will run from Tuesday, Nov. 28-Friday, Dec. 22, in the Recitation Hall Gallery.

Brinley, who has a successful national career that includes such clients as Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated and The New York Times Magazine, is the new assistant professor in foundations design in UD's Department of Art.

He is an alumnus of both UD's Department of Art and the Art Center in Pasadena, Calif.

Before the opening of his show, Brinley will lecture about his work at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, in 130 Smith Hall. A reception will follow at 7 p.m. in the Recitation Hall Gallery, where attendees will have a chance to meet and speak with the artist.

The show, lecture and opening reception, which are sponsored by UD's Department of Art, are free and open to the public.
