3 p.m., Nov. 16, 2006--The University of Delaware and Villanova University will continue their long rivalry in football with a game at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium. The teams first met in 1895 and the Fightin' Blue Hens hold a narrow 20-18-1 edge in the series.

The game will mark the final appearance of both teams in the Atlantic 10 Conference, with the entire conference membership moving into the Colonial Athletic Association for the 2007 season.

Both teams enter the game with records of 5-5 overall. Villanova is 4-3 in the conference and has a three-game winning streak, with an impressive 21-20 victory over James Madison University last week. UD is 3-4 in the conference and is coming off a 28-14 victory over the College of William & Mary.

Senior quarterback Marvin Burroughs directs the Villanova offense. He has completed 156 of 260 passes for 1,917 yards and nine touchdowns and is a dangerous runner, racking up 124 yards in the Wildcats' victory over the University of Richmond. Joining Burroughs in the backfield at Matt Dicken and DeQuese May, who has carried the ball 90 times for 467 yards and has caught 37 passes for 438 yards. Starting wide receivers are Chris Polite and Brandyn Harvey, with Matt Sherry at tight end.

Junior quarterback Joe Flacco leads the Hens. He has completed 234 of 376 passes for 2,446 yards and 16 touchdowns. His favorite targets are tight end Ben Patrick, who has 58 catches for 589 yards and five touchdowns, and wide receiver Aaron Love, who has 51 catches for 671 yards and four touchdowns.

Running back Omar Cuff returned to the UD lineup last week following an ankle injury. On the season, he has 104 carries for 460 yards and seven touchdowns and has caught 24 passes for 206 yards.

The UD defense came to life last week, forcing three interceptions by William & Mary quarterback Michael Potts. Kyle Campbell leads the Hens with three interceptions, and Garrett Schultz, Fred Andrew and Erik Johnson have two each.

Saturday's game will be carried on Comcast CN8, as well as on radio stations WRDX-FM The River 94.7 and WVUD-FM 91.3.
