Field hockey players Swain, Karsten honored 1:48 p.m., Nov. 9, 2006--University of Delaware senior field hockey midfielder Stephanie Swain was named second team All-Colonial Athletic Association and freshman Tori Karsten was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team. Swain, an assistant captain for the Fightin' Blue Hens, was fourth on the team with 10 points on two goals and six assists. She started 17 games for the Hens, getting a goal and an assist in a 5-4 season opening victory over No. 16 Michigan State University and scoring the lone goal in a 5-1 loss to No. 3 Duke University. Karsten scored UD's only goal against Drexel University in a 2-1 loss and also recorded an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to Rutgers University. The Hens finished the season 7-12 overall, falling 2-1 to Hofstra University in the quarterfinals of the CAA championship tournament. |
