'Last Comic Standing' winners at UD Nov. 14, 15

2:30 p.m., Nov. 1, 2006--Two of the hottest young comedians in the business, Josh Blue and Ty Barnett, will be coming to UD on Nov. 14 and 15, respectively, as part of the Student Centers Programming Advisory Board's “Last Comic Standing Week.”

Blue, winner of NBC's Emmy-nominated Last Comic Standing, will perform at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Bacchus Theatre in the Perkins Student Center. Seating, which is limited, will be on a first-come, first-served basis to students with UD ID cards.

Barnett, a runner-up on Last Comic Standing, will perform at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, in The Scrounge. Both events are part of the Student Centers Programming Advisory Board's Coffeehouse series.

Besides his success on Last Comic Standing, Blue has guest starred on Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia, and was grand-prize winner of the Royal Flush Comedy Competition. A nominee for the “Best Diversity Event of 2006,” Blue tackles the challenges of living with cerebral palsy, while using his comedy to confront the stereotypes audiences may have about people with disabilities.

Barnett was voted “Up-and-coming Comedian of the Year” in 2002 at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Television appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also has appeared on Comedy Central Presents Premium Blend and has performed with Chris Rock and Al Green.
