Comedian Margaret Cho at UD Nov. 16

5:06 p.m., Nov. 3, 2006--Margaret Cho will bring her politically charged wit to UD for an 8 p.m. performance on Thursday, Nov. 16, in Multipurpose Rooms A, B & C of the Trabant University Center.

Cho began performing stand-up comedy at 16 in San Francisco's Haight-Asbury district, where she grew up in the 1970s. She hit the college circuit in her early 20s and soon became the most booked act, rising to the attention of both Arsenio Hall and Bob Hope, who brought her to television audiences.

She has completed several sold-out national tours, has starred in two comedic films aired on channels owned by Showtime Cable Network, and has written two well-received books containing essays on politics, society and contemporary culture.

Cho's stand-up comedy act is open to the public and is intended for mature audiences. Tickets priced at $20 (for students, staff and faculty with UD ID only) will be sold through the UD Box Office starting at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 6. Tickets priced at $35 (for the general public) will be sold at UD box office and Ticketmaster locations starting Friday, Nov. 10.

The event is cosponsored by UD's Asian Heritage Council, East Southeast Asian Union, LGBTQ Lecture Series, Office of Women's Affairs, CPAB, HAVEN, SCPAB and Direct Action Committee.

For more information on the event, call (302) 831-0091.
