Air Force Celtic music group to perform
10:26 a.m., Nov. 17, 2006--The U.S. Air Force Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. The free concert is sponsored by UD's Department of Music.
Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble is the newest component of the Air Force Heritage of America Band at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and plays for community concerts and military events.
Under the direction of Master Sgt. David Boone, Heritage Aire blends contemporary music with traditional Celtic music styles to achieve a unique sound. They perform on traditional instruments, such as the Irish flute, tin whistles and Scottish small pipes, plus modern instruments, such as acoustic guitar and oboe.
