Senior Calvin Cannon suspended for 2 games

1:51 p.m., Nov. 9, 2006--Senior guard Calvin Cannon of the University of Delaware men's basketball team has been suspended for the first two games of the regular season for a violation of team policy, UD Head Coach Monté Ross has announced.

Cannon is suspended for the Fightin' Blue Hens' season opener against Marist College to be played on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Bob Carpenter Center and for the UD game at the State University of New York at Albany on Friday, Nov. 17. He will be eligible to play in the home game against Rider University on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Cannon appeared in all 30 games last season while starting 15 and is the Hens' leading returning scorer at 9.0 points per game. He ranked eighth in the Colonial Athletic Association with 1.97 three-pointers made per game and was 13th with a 34.1 three-point field goal percentage in 2005-06.
