Lifelong Learning band to perform Dec. 10

3 p.m., Nov. 27, 2006--The 76-member Concert Band of the Academy of Lifelong Learning will present its final fall concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 10, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. The concert is free and open to the public.

Musical selections will include works from Alford, Bach, Chopin, King and holiday selections such as Brown's Christmas Fugue.

The band is comprised of professional musicians and highly talented amateurs and enjoys a full complement of instrumentation. Conductor for this tour is Carroll Humphrey, who studied at the Oberlin Conservatory and Temple University.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning is a learning cooperative that is part of the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies at UD, offering membership to more than 2,000 adults 50 and older who exchange ideas, take classes, teach and travel together.
