WVUD Sports to cover NCAA lacrosse game

5:21 p.m., May 16, 2007--WVUD Sports has announced that the campus radio station will provide coverage of the NCAA Division I men's lacrosse championship tournament quarterfinal game matching the University of Delaware against the University of Maryland Baltimore County on Sunday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.

WVUD-FM 91.3 also will broadcast the semifinals and finals, should the Fightin' Blue Hens advance.

The game will start at noon, with pre-game coverage beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Leading the lacrosse coverage will be Bill Panuski, a community member of the sports team. Panuski is a veteran broadcaster who has provided coverage of UD lacrosse, hockey, soccer and football for five years at WVUD. He worked the 2005 NCAA men's lacrosse tournament game between UD and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Joining Panuski in the booth will be Andrew Gerbosi, a UD sophomore from Nassau County, N.Y., who played lacrosse at Long Island Lutheran High School. He has experience broadcasting basketball and ice hockey games for the campus station.

In addition to the radio broadcasts, live streaming audio will be available through the WVUD website [www.wvud.org].
