9:19 a.m., May 21, 2007--Newark Police are investigating the rape of a UD student that occurred around 12:45 a.m., Saturday, May 19, in the area of West Cleveland Avenue and Rose Street in Newark.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 19-21 years old, with a thin build and wearing jeans and a T-shirt. He assaulted the victim as she was attending a party in the rear yard of the residence. The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital, where she was treated and released from the Christiana Emergency Room.
