3:44 p.m., May 1, 2007--The University of Delaware's Center for Disabilities Studies has scheduled public meetings on the five-year goals for the Governor's Commission on Community-Based Alternatives for Persons with Disabilities. Persons with disabilities, family members, service providers, including professionals like therapists, educators, bus drivers, health care workers and others who have experience with or knowledge of disability services are invited.
The commission has drafted 10 goals to reach in the next five years that will improve access to services in assessment, employment, health care, housing, a “Money Follows the Person” program and direct support workforce development.
The meeting are scheduled as follows:
- Tuesday, May 8, from 5:45-8 p.m., Delaware Tech, Stanton Campus, in rooms 114A and 116A;
- Tuesday, May 15, from 5:45-8 p.m., Delaware Tech, Terry Campus in Dover, Corporate Training Center, in rooms 400A and 400B; and
- Thursday, May 24, from 5:45-8 p.m., Delaware Tech, Owens Campus in Georgetown, Carter Partnership Center, in rooms 555A and 555B.
