8:53 a.m., May 14, 2007--University of Delaware freshman Cristine Marquez finished seventh in the 400-meter dash at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) track and field championships held Sunday at Weaver Track and Field Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.

Marquez, who finished second in the event at the Colonial Athletic Association championships last month, ran a time of 56.58. Leslie Anderson of James Madison University captured the event with a time of 55.03.

Also competing for the Fightin' Blue Hens were seniors Rachel Young and Jared Wasser. Young finished 14th in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 9 inches, and Wasser finished 17th in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet, 9.75 inches.
