UD’s Katie Lee to attend leadership conference
UD junior Katie Lee will attend the NCAA Leadership Conference.
7:56 a.m., May 24, 2007--University of Delaware softball center fielder Katie Lee will participate in the 11th annual NCAA Leadership Conference to be held May 27-31 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Lee, a junior marketing major from Manassas, Va., will be among 331 scholar-athletes from all three NCAA divisions who have been selected as current or future campus leaders. The conference is a forum in which scholar-athletes have an opportunity to enhance their leadership and decision-making skills and discuss key issues in intercollegiate athletics.

The conference will include daily exercises and activities to help the participants develop as individuals and as contributing members of society. They will discuss a variety of topics such as sportsmanship, substance abuse, social networking sites, hazing, recruiting climate, professional development and integrating scholar-athletes into the campus community.

Lee is the third UD softball player to be selected to attend the leadership conference this decade, joining Melissa Basilio in 2002 and Kelley Pastic in 2005.
