Talk on federal grant getting set Thursday

2:20 p.m., May 2, 2007--"Strategies for Grant Getting from Federal Agencies” will be the topic of a talk at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 3, in 207 Willard Hall Education Building, by Lynne Vernon-Feagans, William C. Friday Distinguished Professor of Early Childhood, Families and Literacy, professor of psychology and coordinator of early childhood, family and literacy studies strand in education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Despite recent retrenchment at the federal level with respect to research grants, there are some effective strategies to maximize efforts for securing funds for research, especially for investigators new to the federal system. Informal discussion and interaction with the audience will be used to make this most relevant to UD faculty.

Part of UD's School of Education colloquium series, the event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available. For more information, call (302) 831-3178.
