3:35 p.m., May 17, 2007--UD students in apparel design showed off their creations to more than 600 at the Synergy fashion show on May 5 in Trabant University Center.

Senior Amy Lieberman, public relations officer for the group, said the show featured collections from seniors, outfits from a Wal-Mart challenge competition in which the students received $30 to create a designer "look for less,” as well as creations of students from a flat pattern and draping class.

“The show went really well,” Lieberman said. “It was a big success and well received by everyone. The senior collections were a big hit. Everyone received lots of compliments on their work.”

Belinda Orzada, associate professor of fashion and apparel studies and Synergy adviser, said UD students in visual communications designed posters and tickets for the show and models from Barbizon Modeling and Acting Centers modeled the clothes on the runway. “It came off very well,” Orzada said. “It's really a professional show. I always get good comments from people who attend.”

Lieberman said the show has been an annual event for approximately 20 years.
