"The UD Messenger has won previous awards from the Delaware Press

McLaughlin said the idea for the “Now & Then” UD engagement calendar, which features historical and current photos of the University, originated with Mary Hempel, the late assistant to the president and director of the Office of Public Relations. “There are so many photographers that contributed to this piece. They should all be congratulated,” McLaughlin said. “It was a pleasure to design a piece that features such great photography.”

Bryant also received one of three Sweepstakes Awards given at the banquet on the basis of total accumulated awards. “I was delighted to receive the award, but it really acknowledges the collaboration of our team in research communications on a number of projects completed this year for the College of Marine and Earth Studies and the Office of Public Relations,” Bryant said, referring to her colleagues Barczak and Donnelly.

“It's great to see University of Delaware projects recognized, and I'm particularly proud that many awards went to members of the Office of Public Relations staff,” Brennan said.
