3:37 p.m., May 30, 2007--University of Delaware junior Adam Blomberg, who set three school records for the Fightin' Blue Hens swimming and diving team during the 2006-07 campaign, has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 2 at-large team.

Blomberg, from Kennewick, Wash., was one of 10 scholar-athletes selected to the university division team based on academic and athletic excellence during the season. The District 2 university division includes all NCAA Division I schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. The at-large team includes athletes in sports other than football, soccer, basketball and baseball.

A three-year letter winner and dean's list student, Blomberg helped establish new UD standards in the 200 freestyle relay (1:24.50), 400 freestyle relay (3:08.24) and 800 freestyle relay (6:53.59). Earlier this spring he was honored as the Colonial Athletic Association scholar-athlete of the year for men's swimming and diving.

Blomberg has registered 23 career top 10 finishes at the CAA championships in his three seasons. A physics major with a minor in business and management information systems, Blomberg has been named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll three times. He carries a 3.79 grade point average.

Earlier this month, he was presented Thomas Baranello Award for outstanding achievement in the classroom and in the pool and was also named the team's Sportsmanship Award winner.
