Buchholz, Ozog lead baseball team to win
UD senior Todd Ozog threw a complete game victory over Temple.
8:14 a.m., May 9, 2007--Senior righthanded pitcher Todd Ozog threw his first career complete game and infielder Alex Buchholz had a double, a triple, a home run and three runs batted in to lead the University of Delaware baseball team to a 6-1 win over host Temple University on Tuesday afternoon at Skip Wilson Field in Ambler, Pa.

Ozog, who is now 3-3 on the season, did not allow a run and gave up only four hits over the first eight innings before Temple finally broke through with a single run in the ninth.

Buchholz has had a hot bat, and now has a hitting streak that stands at 14 games. He leads the Hens with a .398 batting average.

UD jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when Buchholz tripled home Brandon Menchaca and then scored on a home run by Bryan Hagerich, his 15th of the season. Buchholz hit a solo home run in the sixth and doubled home Ryan Engelhardt in the seventh.

The victory was the 10th straight for the Hens, who are now 24-18. UD will return to action with a game at LaSalle University on Wednesday, May 9.

Then, UD will play a key Colonial Athletic Association weekend series at Virginia Commonwealth. The teams will meet at 7 p.m., Friday, May 11, at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, and at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 13. UD is 14-9 in the conference and holds second place, one game back of both Virginia Commonwealth and Old Dominion University.
