Roadwork may slow traffic on and near campus
3:02 p.m., June 7, 2007--Students, faculty, staff and visitors to the UD campus this summer can expect traffic delays on Interstate 95 and Route 896, South College Avenue, as a result of DelDOT (Delaware Department of Transportation) short- and long-term construction projects.

South College Avenue (Route 896)

New students and family members coming to campus for DelaWorld new student orientation sessions (June 19-July 19) can expect ocassional congested traffic conditions both northbound and southbound on South College Avenue from Amstel Avenue to Waterworks Lane because of a curb replacement project. Work on the project began June 4 and will continue through Aug. 17.

I-95 and expressways

Delays also can be expected due to nighttime lane closures slated for 9 p.m.-5 a.m., through Nov. 30, 2008, on northbound and southbound I-95 as a result of a fifth lane widening project. No lane or ramp restrictions are scheduled during the day, but the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the construction zone.
