Bookstore bonanza for Extreme Makeover families
Freshman engineering major Seth Beckley and his parents, winners of the Extreme Delaware Family Makeover at DelaWorld on June 19, will enjoy a $400 spending spree at the UD Bookstore.
2:40 p.m., June 19, 2007--When future UD students and their families are welcomed to the campus for DelaWorld, the University's new student orientation program, they could be chosen for an Extreme Delaware Family Makeover, thanks to the University Bookstore.

Each day during DelaWorld, one lucky family will receive a $400 gift certificate for a spending spree at the Bookstore and can select whatever they want--UD sweatshirts, T-shirts or hats, items featuring the ever popular mascot YoUDee, stuff for dorm rooms, classroom supplies or whatever else interests them, according to Jennifer Galt, UD Bookstore manager.

Galt doubles as a photographer and takes pictures when the family is selected. Afterward, the families are asked to e-mail an “after photo” of their UD makeover, displaying their Bookstore finds. The photos are posted online, and UDaily readers can vote for their favorites from Aug. 1-15. The winning family's student will get all the textbooks needed for fall classes.

Families are excited about their students coming to UD at DelaWorld, and this is the Bookstore's way of participating in spreading UD school spirit, Galt said.
