Summer fitness challenge set

3:24 p.m., June 1, 2007--Employees seeking to stay in shape this summer are invited to register now for the Employee Wellness Center's “National Parks” summer fitness challenge.

The six-week, self-paced physical activity program, which can be done anywhere, runs from July 1-Aug. 11. Activities, which include 50 common leisure and sport pursuits, are converted into “exercise minute” points that in turn convert to “mileage points” for an imaginary trip through eight national parks.

All eligible finishers will receive a beach mat as a prize, and one randomly drawn winner will receive a two-night weekend stay at the Virden Center in Lewes, courtesy of UD Conference Services.

Cost of the challenge is 10 Wellness Dollars (for the 2007-08 year). For more information, or to register, call (302) 831-8388 or go to [www.udel.edu/wellness].
