Harris, Hagerich named second team All-East

8:23 a.m., June 22, 2007--University of Delaware senior pitcher Billy Harris and senior outfielder Bryan Hagerich have been named second team All-East by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Harris had an outstanding season for the Fightin' Blue Hens, leading the team with a 7-1 record and 87.2 innings pitched. He had an earned run average of 3.59 and struck out 98 batters, which was among the leaders in both the Colonial Athletic Association and the NCAA.

Harris appeared in a 75 games during his career, a UD record, and he ranks ninth in school history with 204 strikeouts. He was drafted in the 25th round by the Philadelphia Phillies in the recent Major League Baseball draft.

Hagerich established himself as one of the top power hitters in UD history with 47 home runs, second in school history to current Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Kevin Mench. Hagerich is second all-time in games played, third in at-bats and total bases, seventh in runs batted in and 15th in hits.
