Undergrad research symposium set Aug. 9

3:27 p.m., July 21, 2006--UD's sixth annual Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium, set for Wednesday, Aug. 9, will showcase the research efforts of more than 90 UD undergraduates from the colleges of Agriculture, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Marine and Earth Studies and Health Sciences.

The symposium will begin at 11 a.m., in Wolf Hall Auditorium, with a lecture by Sarah Elgin, Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor of Genomics in Education at Washington University in St. Louis.

After Elgin's lecture and a short lunch break, the symposium will resume with student talks and poster presentations from 1-3 p.m. in the basement of McKinly Laboratory. The symposium will conclude with an informal reception with Elgin, from 3-3:30 p.m., in 061 McKinly Laboratory.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium is organized by UD's Howard Hughes Medical Institute Program and is sponsored by several campus units.
