Police seek suspect in early morning robbery

3:25 p.m., July 26, 2006--Newark Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery that occurred at the intersection of Ogletown and Marrows road at 3:06 a.m., Wednesday, July 26.

Police said a Newark man reported that he was in his vehicle, which was stopped on Ogletown Road for a red light at the Marrows Road intersection, when a black 1990s Chrysler pulled in front of his vehicle and blocked it. A man got out of the vehicle, walked up to the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded cash, and the victim turned over an undisclosed amount.

The suspect, who was about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a bald head and goatee, and who was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants, got back into the Chrysler, which fled the scene heading southbound on Marrows Road. The Chrysler had no license plate and was being driven by a woman wearing a brown shirt.

Anyone with information should contact the Newark Police at (302) 366-7110, extension 133, or call the Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
