Pizza delivery driver is victim of armed robbery

10:54 a.m., July 27, 2006--Newark Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver at 9:59 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, on Thorne Lane in Newark. Police said the delivery driver was attempting to make a delivery at 81 Thorne Lane when he was confronted by a man who displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The driver handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot toward Madison Drive. The suspect was about 17-18 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches tall and of average build, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants.
