UD running back Cuff is preseason All-American

Hens running back Omar Cuff

10:07 a.m., July 10, 2006--University of Delaware junior running back Omar Cuff has been selected to The Sports Network's preseason NCAA Division I-AA All-American football team.

Cuff, who gained 1,205 yards and ran for 14 touchdowns in 2005, was selected to the second team. Last season, Cuff tied a Fightin' Blue Hens single season record by rushing for more than 100 yards in seven games, including a career-high 236 yards in a victory against James Madison University. That was the second highest single game total in UD history.

Cuff also set school records for points, with 30, and touchdowns, with five, in the season opening victory over Lehigh University.

Cuff and the Hens will open preseason camp on Aug. 11 with the season opener at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, against West Chester University at Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium.
