Rep. Castle to speak at UD Thursday

10:41 a.m., July 5, 2006--U.S. Rep. Michael Castle (R-Del.) will deliver an address at UD on physical therapy issues before Congress at 12:10 p.m., Thursday, July 6, in the 130 Sharp Lab. Members of the campus community are invited to attend the talk, which has been arranged by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Before his speech, Castle will visit tour the Department of Physical Therapy's clinics and research laboratories and meet with faculty to discuss rehabilitation research initiatives at the University.

UD has federal funding to study rehabilitation interventions aimed at reducing costs, improving quality of life and enhancing the physical function of individuals who have osteoarthritis, have suffered a stroke or have other movement-related disorders such as developmental disabilities in children.
