Armbruster, Iverson join UD athletics staff

9:58 a.m., July 12, 2006--The University of Delaware athletics department has announced the addition of Charles “Chip” Armbruster and Sandy Iverson to the staff as part of its recent reorganization following the retirement of long-time Senior Associate Director Mary Ann Hitchens.

UD Director of Athletics Edgar N. Johnson announced the appointment of Armbruster to the position of compliance manager and Iverson to the position of athletics accountant.

Armbruster, a graduate of Indiana University, takes over responsibilities for all NCAA and internal compliance for UD athletics. He replaces Sue Groff, who has taken over duties as associate director of athletics for internal affairs and senior woman administrator. As manager of compliance, Armbruster will work closely with Groff and will be responsible for all aspects of NCAA eligibility for Fightin' Blue Hens scholar-athletes. His duties include financial aid, NCAA compliance reports, NCAA recruiting exams, rules education seminars and summer sports camp compliance.

Iverson, who has worked in UD's Office of General Accounting since 1990, joins the athletics department in a newly created position. She will work closely with Scott Eatough, associate director of athletics for business and external affairs, in the business operations of the department. Her responsibilities include budgets for post-season competition, financial policies and procedures, hotel and transportation contracts, payroll, purchasing cards, stadium and game support contracts, and work study.
