Skating discounts offered Sunday for book donations
5:05 p.m., Jan. 17, 2007--Bring a new or slightly used book to a special public skating event from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21, at UD's Fred Rust Ice Arena to support Success Won't Wait, a nonprofit literacy program based in Wilmington, and receive $1 off both admission and skate rentals. To round out the reading theme, special guest “Teacher's Pet” will visit from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
In 2002, junior Vincenza Carrieri-Russo and 1986 UD graduate Susan McNeill founded Success Won't Wait to encourage literacy and reading. The organization distributes collected books to schools, doctors' offices, community centers, learning centers and residential libraries.
