City police investigate party fight, stabbings

11:08 a.m., Feb. 26, 2007--The Newark Police are investigating a fight that broke out in the early morning hours Sunday, Feb. 25, during a party at a house in the 300 block of South College Avenue, south of Park Place. The fight resulted in three men being stabbed.

Police said the house was the scene of a party and believe the fight broke out on a rear deck about 2 a.m., with three men ages 20-25 suffering wounds and being transported to the Christiana Hospital emergency room. They were admitted to the hospital for treatment and are listed in stable condition.

None of the injured men were residents of the house, police said. Four or five men, all 19-23, are considered suspects in the case, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Rieger of the Newark Police Department at (302) 366-7110, ext. 133, or call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
