9:31 a.m., Feb. 28, 2007--Newark Police are investigating the robbery of three female University of Delaware students at 10:23 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the parking lot of the University Courtyard apartment complex.

Police said a man described as being about 20-23 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and of stocky build confronted the students. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black bandana covering his face.

As the suspect approached the students, he displayed a handgun and demanded money and property. He then fled in a dark-colored four-door sedan. The victims were not injured in the incident.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Det. Rieger of the Newark Police at (302) 366-7110, ext. 133, or call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
