Organ recital set Sunday in Bayard Sharp Hall

11:57 a.m., Feb. 22, 2007--UD's Department of Music presents a recital by David Herman, faculty organist, at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, in Bayard Sharp Hall.

The concert will feature the premiere of Effigies, a work written for Herman by Jennifer Barker, associate professor of music at UD. The concert also will include the Music of Lübeck to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the death of organist and composer Dietrich Buxtehude. The work of Jan Bender and his student Hugo Distler, two 20th-century composers who worked in Lübeck, also will be featured.

Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices. For more information, call (302) 831-2577.
