Hens men’s lacrosse takes Manhattan, 20-5

Senior Dan Deckelbaum scored three goals in the 20-5 victory over Manhattan.

8:23 a.m., Feb. 26, 2007--The No. 15-ranked University of Delaware men's lacrosse team earned its third win of the season with a 20-5 victory over Manhattan College on Saturday at Rullo Stadium. UD senior Dan Deckelbaum and freshman Kevin Kaminski scored three goals each and Alex Smith won 27 of 28 face-offs.

A total of 13 different UD players scored goals, including five with two or more, as the Fightin' Blue Hens (3-0) extended their school record for consecutive home wins to 11.

UD All-America Jordan Hall had two goals and two assists, and Adam Zuder-Havens and Martin Cahill scored two goals each. Kyle Rotelli and Marty Kupprion each added a goal and an assist. UD goalkeeper Tommy Scherr had five saves, surpassing the 200 mark for his career.

The Hens will return to action with a game against Rutgers University at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, at Rullo Stadium. The Scarlet Knights are scheduled to open their season on Tuesday against Dowling College.
