LIFE program Peer Mentors needed for fall

11:03 a.m., Feb. 9, 2007--Wanted: UD's LIFE (Learning Integrated Freshman Experience) program is looking for outgoing, friendly students to become part of its new group of Peer Mentors for incoming freshmen next fall. Besides performing a valuable and rewarding service on campus, Peer Mentors receive a stipend of $1,000 for the semester.

This is an opportunity to connect with a cluster of 15-25 freshmen, with a common interest study curriculum and course loads, as they experience their first semester of college. Peer Mentors teach University 101 classes, help students form study groups, organize field trips, invite speakers and interact with new students informally.

Peer Mentors also take a practicum course taught by LIFE program coordinators.

To qualify as Peer Mentors, applicants must have a 2.8 grade point average.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, Feb. 28. For more information and to apply, go to [http://life.ugs.udel.edu/peerapplication.html].
