Sustainability film series set Mondays in Trabant

4:57 p.m., Feb. 9, 2007--A new film series cosponsored by Student Centers and the Office of Residence Life is set to run Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m., from Feb. 12-March 12, in the Theatre of the Trabant University Center. A brief synopsis of each film is below.

An Inconvenient Truth, Feb. 12, documents former Vice President Al Gore's crusade to stem global warming and debunks the misconceptions that surround it.

Black Gold, Feb. 19, traces the standard $3 cup of coffee purchased at the corner coffee shop to the subsistence farmers in third-world countries who receive only pennies for their beans.

Fast Food Nation, March 5, exposes the hidden facts behind America's fast food industry and gives viewers an eye-popping look behind the counter of the local drive-thru.

Syriana, March 12, documents in fiction the high-stakes bargaining and international competition over the energy resources in the Middle East.

All films in the series are free and open to the public, but seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on the series, call (302) 831-1296.
