Spring break trip to aid New Orleans residents

1:54 p.m., Feb. 26, 2007--The Unitarian Universalist student group at UD and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark are organizing an alternative spring break trip to support continuing hurricane recovery efforts in the Gulf Coast.

The group will travel to New Orleans from Sunday, March 25, through Saturday, March 31, to work on cleaning up, deconstructing and reconstructing homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina. More than a year after the hurricane hit much work remains to be done. During the evenings, participants will have time to explore the rebuilt portions of the city.

All are welcome and no prior experience or special skills are necessary. The deadline to sign up for the trip is Wednesday, March 1.

For more information about transportation and costs, or to reserve a space on the team, e-mail the Rev. Greg Chute at [greg@uufn.org]. For more information, visit [http://copland.udel.edu/stu-org/unitarian].
