Blue Hen Weekend: Basketball still on, lacrosse postponed

8:25 a.m., Feb. 16, 2007--The University of Delaware men's basketball team will compete in an ESPNU BracketBusters tournament game at the Bob Carpenter Center on Saturday.

The men's lacrosse game against Lehigh University to have been played Saturday afternoon at Rullo Stadium has been postponed due to snow and ice on the playing surface. The game will instead be played at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The Fightin' Blue Hens men's lacrosse team is coming off a 23-6 victory over St. Joseph's University in last week's season opener, while Lehigh will be playing its first game of the season. The Mountain Hawks went 8-7 last season and feature two-time All-Patriot League selection Alec Hooff, a senior midfielder.

The UD men's basketball team will take on Iona College in the ESPNU BracketBusters game at 7 p.m., Saturday, at the Bob Carpenter Center. UD is 5-22 on the season and Iona, coached by former NBA player Jeff Ruland, is 1-24.

In other weekend action, the swimming and diving teams will complete competition in the CAA championships on Saturday at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., the indoor track teams will compete on Saturday at the Princeton Invitational, and the tennis teams will play that morning at Lehigh University.

The UD women's basketball team will play at Towson University at 2 p.m., Sunday, in a CAA contest.
