Hens’ Somers selected All-CAA cross country

UD sophomore Julia Somers has been named to the All-CAA cross country team.

9:38 a.m., Dec. 12, 2006--University of Delaware sophomore runner Julia Somers has been named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association cross country team.

A sophomore from Haverford, Pa., Somers was a top competitor throughout the season for Fightin' Blue Hens Head Coach Sue McGrath-Powell. Somers led the Hens in six of the seven races in which she competed, capturing the individual title at the Delaware Invitational held Oct. 14 at White Clay Creek State Park.

Somers finished in 10th place at the conference championship meet. She also finished fourth at the Hofstra Invitational, 13th at the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships, 34th at the NCAA District 2 regional meet and 34th at the Paul Short Invitational.
