Special holiday skating sessions Dec. 22-Jan. 1

1:51 p.m., Dec. 15, 2006--The Fred Rust Ice Arena is offering an expanded public skating schedule during the holidays to accommodate youngsters home for the winter break.

The rink will be open to the public from 8-10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, from 1-3 p.m. and from 8-10 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, and from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 24. From Tuesday-Saturday, Dec. 26-30, the rink will be open to the public from 1-3 p.m. and from 8-10 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 31, the rink will be open from 10 a.m.-noon and from 1-3 p.m.

To start off the new year on Monday, Jan. 1, the rink will open from 1-4 p.m., and will include special sand-art activities.

As a holiday bonus, the first 250 people to attend the public session from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 26 and 27, will receive a complimentary ticket to the women's basketball games against George Mason on Sunday, Jan. 28.

Admission for public sessions is $6 for skaters 6 and older, $5 for children under 6. Skate rentals are $3 per pair. Adult supervision is required for youths 12 and under.
