Master Gardener trainees sought

12:04 p.m., Dec. 22, 2006--Those who enjoy working in the garden and would like to share gardening tips with others are invited to take their enthusiasm to a higher level by becoming Master Gardeners.

A series of information sessions on Master Gardener training, sponsored by Delaware Cooperative Extension in New Castle County, will be offered in January at three libraries:

  • Brandywine Hundred Library, 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9;
  • Appoquinimink Library, 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10; and
  • Newark Free Library, 7-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15.

Application forms will be available at the information sessions.

Master Gardener spring training courses will be held from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, from March 6-May 24. Cost is $100. Based at UD's Cooperative Extension Office, the Master Gardeners' program is run by certified New Castle County Master Gardeners.
