Noon tech talk on laptop tips set Wednesday

11:56 a.m., Dec. 1, 2006--“Laptop Tips and Tricks for Macintosh and Windows users” will be the featured topic at the final fall semester program of the “Let Us PRESENT” educational technology series, from 12:20-1:10 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, in 010 Smith Hall.

The free noontime session will offer faculty an opportunity to learn more about the capabilities of the computers they are using.

Windows users will learn more about tablet features, Microsoft OneNote and the different ways that fellow faculty use their tablet PCs. Macintosh users will explore a few of the many features that come standard with all Macintosh computers, including third-party applications that expand user experience.

Sponsored by IT-User Services' PRESENT, the educational technology series “Let Us PRESENT” focuses on new ways of using existing tools and introducing UD faculty to new technologies that can enhance learning in their classrooms.

The free technology sessions, which are slated for the first Wednesday of each month during the fall and spring semesters, include light lunches of salads and beverages.

Space is limited and registration is required for each session. To register, interested faculty members should go to [www.udel.edu/present/news/topics/letuspresent.html] and follow the online menu prompts.

PRESENT (Practical Resources for Educators Seeking Effective New Technologies) provides expertise and facilities to enable faculty and staff who teach at UD to enhance student learning through the use of technology. For more information, go to [www.udel.edu/present] or call (302) 831-0640.
