Webster joins Delaware men’s lacrosse staff

Brandon Webster has joined the UD men’s lacrosse team coaching staff.

8:04 a.m., Dec. 7, 2006--Brandon Webster, a former University of Delaware lacrosse and soccer player, has been named an assistant lacrosse coach for the Fightin' Blue Hens, UD Head Coach Bob Shillinglaw announced Wednesday.

Webster, 34, who was most recently offensive coordinator at NCAA Division III Cazenovia (N.Y.) College, joins a staff that includes associate head coach Greg Carroll and assistant coach Chris Collins.

A 1994 UD graduate, Webster was a four-year member of the lacrosse team under Shillinglaw and finished his career with eight goals and five assists. During that time, the Hens were ranked in the national top 20 all four years and won North Atlantic Conference championships in 1992, 1993 and 1994. He also played for UD in 16 soccer matches.

Webster began his coaching career at the college level, serving as defensive coordinator for the University of Arizona club team. He returned to Delaware and in 2003 served as defensive coordinator for the Tatnall School, which posted a perfect 18-0 record and won the state title. Among the players on that team was current UD attackman and All-America candidate Cam Howard.

Following one season at Tatnall, Webster moved back to the college level and spent two seasons at Herkimer (N.Y.) Junior College, serving in 2005 as the offensive coordinator for a team that went 17-2 and won the national junior college championship. He then joined the staff at Cazenovia College for one season before accepting the position at UD.
