4 films by Jarmusch featured during Winter Session

4:01 p.m., Dec. 11, 2006--UD's third annual Winter Session film series is set for 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday in January at the Trabant University Center Theatre.

Sponsored by Student Centers, this year's series, titled “J is for Jarmusch: Winter Film Series,” will feature four independent films by writer/director Jim Jarmusch, who is known for his deadpan style and unconventional story lines.

The schedule includes:

  • Stranger Than Paradise, (Jan. 3);
  • Dead Man, (Jan. 10);
  • Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, (Jan. 17); and
  • Broken Flowers, (Jan. 24).

As a special feature on Jan. 3, Thomas Leitch, UD professor of English and director of UD's Film Studies program, will lecture before the movie about its creation and its director.

All events are free and open to the campus and Newark communities, but seating is limited and on a first-come, first-seated basis. For more information, call (302) 831-1296.
