Nominations sought for awards, alumni board

6:39 p.m., Dec. 1, 2006--The Office of Alumni and University Relations is accepting nominations for several student and alumni awards and for board of directors positions. The deadline is Jan. 26 for alumni nominations, Feb. 19 for student awards.

Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement
The Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement honors UD graduates of the last 20 years who exhibit great promise in their professional career and/or public service activities. For more information and a nomination form, visit [www.udel.edu/alumni/awards/prescit.html].

Outstanding Alumni Award
The Outstanding Alumni Award honors those who exhibit exceptional
volunteer work on behalf of UD and/or the University of Delaware Alumni Association. For more information and a nomination form, visit [www.udel.edu/alumni/awards/oa.html].

Student award nominations

Emalea Pusey Warner and Alexander J. Taylor Sr. Awards

The Emalea Pusey Warner and Alexander J. Taylor Sr. Awards honor an outstanding senior woman and man, respectively. Recipients are awarded $2,500, are recognized at a luncheon and lead the alumni delegates' procession at Commencement. Nominees must demonstrate outstanding academic success, community service and leadership and must have a 3.0 or better cumulative index. The Milton L. Draper Award

The Milton L. Draper Award provides two $2,000 scholarships to a sophomore or junior for exhibiting outstanding performance in fostering student and alumni interaction. The recipient must exemplify Mr. Draper's characteristics of leadership, dedication and enthusiasm for the University.
