WVUD-FM announces 2006 football broadcasts

9:08 a.m., Aug. 30, 2006--WVUD-FM Sports has announced the schedule and broadcast team for its coverage of the 2006 University of Delaware football season.

Coverage begins on Saturday, Sept. 9, as the Fightin' Blue Hens face West Chester University at Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium with air time at 6:30pm. WVUD will be live for all 11 regular season games this season, plus any potential NCAA Division I-AA playoff games.

Leading the broadcast will be Matt Janus and WVUD Sports Director Scott Klatzkin. A senior, Klatzkin is beginning his fourth year calling sporting events for WVUD. He has served as play-by-play broadcaster for the men's basketball team during each of the past three seasons, and provided color commentary in select football games during the 2005 season. Klatzkin also will host WVUD's weekly sports talk show, The Blue Hen Sportscage, airing 7:30-8 p.m. Thursdays.

Joining Klatzkin in the broadcast booth will be Janus, a senior and a familiar voice to WVUD listeners. He covered several sports last year, and was lead play-by-play announcer for baseball coverage. Prior to joining WVUD a year ago, Janus covered sports for UD's student newspaper, The Review, from 2003-2005.

Also providing commentary this season will be seniors Dan Kolko and Brent Schwartz, as well as sophomore Mitch Landsburg. Other additions to the broadcast team will be announced prior to the start of the season.

The broadcasts can be heard on 91.3 FM and live streaming audio will be available through the WVUD website [www.wvud.org].
