UD women’s soccer tops St. Joseph’s, Seton Hall

Lindsay Boyd scored two goals in UD’s victory over Seton Hall.

9:33 a.m., Aug. 28, 2006--The University of Delaware women's soccer team has opened its 2006 season with a pair of victories. The Fightin' Blue Hens defeated St. Joseph's University 1-0 on Friday and Seton Hall University 4-1 on Sunday, with both games played at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.

The Fightin' Blue Hens will return to action this weekend in a tournament at Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. UD will play games against Morehead (Ky.) State University and host Marshall.

In the victory over St. Joseph's, UD sophomore Caitlyn Germain scored the game winner just 28 minutes into the contest. Senior goalkeeper Bonnie Mills had four saves to earn her sixth career shutout.

Against Seton Hall, the Hens got a pair of goals from junior Lindsay Boyd and one each from Germain and sophomore Lisa Parsons. Mills had seven saves.
