Payton Award watch list includes UD back Cuff
8:09 a.m., Aug. 31, 2006--University of Delaware junior running back Omar Cuff has been named to the “watch list” for the Walter Award, which is presented annually to the finest offensive player in NCAA Division I-AA football. Cuff is one of 16 players named to the initial watch list, which was announced recently by the Sports Network.
Cuff earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors in 2005 after leading the conference and ranking 10th nationally in all-purpose yards per game (147.2). He caught 41 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 1,205 yards and 14 touchdowns, becoming the first UD player since Bob Norris in 1985 to lead the Fightin' Blue Hens in rushing and receiving yards. Cuff has topped the 100-yard rushing mark in 11 of his 14 career starts. |
