UD women’s lacrosse edges Towson, 16-15

8:05 a.m., April 2, 2007--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team won its fourth straight game with a hard fought 16-15 victory over Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson University on Sunday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

With the victory, the Fightin' Blue Hens improved to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the CAA. They are in the midst of their first four-game winning streak since 2000.

UD will return to action with a conference game at 7 p.m., Friday, April 6, at George Mason University.

Senior midfielder Katie Muth led the Hens with four goals and three assists, and freshman Emily Schaknowski and junior Casey McCrudden had three goals each. Muth is the first Hen to record seven points in a game since Kate O'Connell in 2001.

Freshmen Nicole Flego and Courtney Aburn each had two goals and one assist. Also scoring for the Hens were sophomore Debbie Sloan, who had one goal and two assists, and freshman Amanda Jones, who had a goal. UD sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had 10 saves.
