Philly Orchestra virtual concert at UD set April 29
4:16 p.m., April 20, 2007--The glorious sound of the Philadelphia Orchestra is coming to the University of Delaware through the magic of Internet2 at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 29, in the Trabant University Center Theater.

Originating from Philadelphia's Verizon Hall, the virtual concert will be carried to UD via the high-performance network of Internet2.

Under the direction of Maestro Christoph Eschenbach, with Julia Fischer, violin, the orchestra will perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major and Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.

The Dean's Office of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Office of Information Technologies and the Department of Music are providing support for the event.

The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. For ticket information, call the Department of Music at (302) 831-8245, or e-mail [music-rsvp@udel.edu]. Required information includes name and mailing address, e-mail address and number of tickets (maximum of four).

Tickets will be distributed at the door of the Trabant University Center Theater on Sunday, April 29. Tickets that have not been distributed by 1:50 p.m. will be released to individuals waiting in line for tickets.
