Track teams compete at Penn Invitational meet
Yianna Antonopoulos finished second in the 5,000-meter run at the Penn Invitational.
9:13 a.m., April 9, 2007--The University of Delaware track teams competed in the University of Pennsylvania Invitational held Saturday at Franklin Field, with Yianna Antonopoulos posting the best showing of the day with a second place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Antonopoulos ran the 5,000 in a time of 18:23.93.

Also for the UD women's team, Laura Chirico finished third in the pole vault with a leap of 10 feet, 11.75 inches and Julia Somers was third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:24.24. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Annie Kowtoniuk finished fifth, Julianne Twomey sixth and Megan McGrath eighth. Christina Antonopoulos was sixth in the 1,500 meters and 18th in the 800 meters.

UD's Dave DiVirgilio finished seventh in the pole vault, with Matt Arbaugh eighth and Matt Guida ninth. Mike McCleary was ninth in the 200-meter dash and 15th in the 400-meter dash, and Bryan Doherty was 11th in the 100 meters and 14th in the 200 meters.
